Pioneer hat zwar die Produktion von feinen “KURO” Plasma-TV eingestellt, jedoch nicht von Audio/Video-Receivern. In den USA wurden zwei neue 7.1-Kanal Elite SC-25 und SC-27 für den Juli 2009 angekündigt. Der Juli beginnt dieses Jahr mit heißem Wetter, Pioneer mit heiß ausgestatteten AV-Receivern für die neuen HD-Audioformate Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD und dts-HD. Beide AV-Receiver SC-25 und SC-27 bieten max. 140W x an jedem Audiokanal und die Zertifizierung von THX2 Plus fehlt auch nicht. Das Gehäuse wird im typischen schwarzen Klavierlack-Design sein. Die Sound-Optimierung wurde bei den AIR Studios vorgenommen. Beide sind auch für das iPhone oder den iPod von Apple zertifiziert und harmonieren unter anderem mit iTunes, Internet-Radio und YouTube im Einklang.

Ein USB-Anschluss sitzt an der Front und an der Rückseite ein LAN-/Ethernet-Anschluss für den Zugriff auf ein lokales Netzwerk mit dem DLNA-Standard oder dem Internet. Beim SC27 sitzt zusätzlich ein kleines LCD-Display auf der chicen Fernbedienung. Gleich 5x HDMI-Eingänge (1x Front) und 2x HDMI-Ausgänge bieten die edlen Elite-AV-Receiver, natürlich verbunden mit allen HDMI-Spezialitäten. Von HDMI-CEC über x.v. Color bis Deep Colour mit 48 bit für exzellente Farbübergänge ohne Abstufungen.
